GATHER YOUR GIRLFRIENDS FOR A KEYNOTE LUNCHEON AT THE HEAD TO TOE WOMEN'S EXPO, April 21
** Dine with Monique Marvez, Comedian, TV & Radio Personality from JACK-FM *
San Diego, Calif. -- April 2, 2007 -- Grab your girlfriend brigade for this spring's biggest party -- the Head to Toe Women's Expo at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, April 20, 21 and 22, 2007. On Saturday, April 21, the show's annual luncheon will take place at 11:30 a.m. with keynote speaker 100.7 Jack FM's Monique Marvez from the "Monique and the Man" morning show.
Monique, the popular comedian and media personality, is a woman on a mission to get people to share as openly and frequently as she does. She writes, performs and makes you think, but mostly she makes you laugh...hard. Whether on the radio, stage or screen, her mission is the same: to find the perfect balance of "A- Ha!" and "Ha- Ha!"
Producers at Billboard Live felt Monique's unique brand of comedy was the perfect way to bring in the millennium and invited her to host ABC's Rockin' New Year's Eve live from South Beach. Over a billion people brought in 2000 with Monique and she's been on a roll ever since. She has appeared on Montel Williams, The Other Half and HBO's Real Sex as a relationship expert. Her personality and humor have taken her around the country and around the world where US troops have seen her numerous times in Japan, Korea, Bosnia and Iraq. A prestigious cruise line even asked Monique to do her act in Spanish. After two years at the helm of her successful radio show, "Monique and the Man" (Indianapolis), she returns to her Southern California home as the new morning show star on the local JACK 100.7 FM.
The price for the Saturday kick-off luncheon is $45.00, which includes a weekend pass to get into the show along with the keynote presentation. Reservations are available online through Tuesday, April 17 at www.headtotoewomensexpo.com.
A portion of the luncheon proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity San Diego (www.habitatsdiego.org), a non-profit, Christian, ecumenical organization that offers families in need a hand up, building homes and selling them to low-income families with a 25-30-year, zero percent interest mortgage.
Working to promote their Women Build, Habitat for Humanity will be bringing in a framed building display to the Head to Toe Women's Expo to encourage local ladies to get involved. With the help of churches, businesses, military groups, student groups and individuals, San Diego Habitat completed its 67th home this year with 45 more in the pipeline. It's one more way women can get inspired at the spring show.
Published by local Carlsbad-based Hay House, Monique has a book coming out in August, titled Not Skinny, Not Blonde, a heart-wrenching, hilarious memoir, which she'll discuss at the show.
Presented by Ralphs, the Head to Toe Women's Expo brings together a wealth of industries that cater to women, providing opportunities for rejuvenation, inspiration, shopping and entertainment. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the creations of 30 fashion designers, 25 boutique jewelers, glamorous fashion shows, gourmet food samples and cooking demonstrations, guest speakers, health and financial resources, home décor items and ideas, wedding resources, and the ultimate pampering -- complimentary makeovers.
Show hours run: Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tickets, available at the door, are $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors (on Friday only), and children under 12-years old are free. Parking is $9.00 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. For more information, visit www.headtotoewomensexpo.com or call (877) 491-0677.
